Unusual, small, outward facing flowers are similar in shape to lily-flowered tulips. Pink tepals with a white bar in the center, yellow stamens. Blooms in July-October. Japanese variety. Suitable for growing over arbors, pergolas, various supports (e.g. trellises, poles) and fences. It can clamber over natural supports such as small trees and shrubs. Best grown in a sheltered, sunny and warm position, through gray or silver leaved shrubs. It’s a herbaceous perennial, its previous year’s shoots tend to die down completely, and therefore the plant should be hard-pruned close to the ground in March.
