An exceptional variety, selected in Canada from seeds originating from a South Corea site native to Clematis chiisanensis. Remarkable nodding flowers, mostly yellow with a purple base, consist in succulent, ribbed, pointed sepals. Free flowering on old wood in May, it continues on new shoots throughout the summer. Beginning in June, fluffy, silky-grey fruit add ornamental value. Its decorative leaves are dark green with a pronounced texture. Leaf petiolae and new shoots are purple. Does not require pruning. It thrives in sunny or semi-shaded sites (as sunlight ensures better colouring of the blossom) and in well-drained soil. It is particularly suitable for small gardens for growing over all kinds of garden supports or deciduous and coniferous shrubs not requiring pruning.
