A hybrid of Clematis macropetala and Clematis alpina. Lovely semi-double slightly nodding flowers with light yellow stamens. Forming an open bell sepals are deep pink on the outside and paler on the inner side. Main and the most profuse flowering in April - May on old wood, but the plant continues blooming throughout the summer on new shoots. Following form June to autumn flowers are followed by decorative fluffy fair seedheads. No pruning required. Tolerates moderate soils but good drainage necessary. A hardy, healthy and undemanding vine. It can be planted in partial shade. Ideal for growing over fences, walls, rocks and old trunks. Makes good ground cover. Particularly useful in small gardens.
