Light red-purple flowers, 6-7 cm across, are borne profusely from June to September. 4 elliptic tepals with a darker purple tinge on the veins, light yellow anthers on yellow-green filaments. It clings to supports by means of twining leaf petioles. Ideal for growing on arbours, pergolas and various garden supports (e.g. trellises, poles) in a sunny, warm spot. It looks lovely climbing up small, deciduous or coniferous trees or shrubs.
