Red-pink open flowers, 8 cm across, composed of 4-6 tepals with wavy edges and a darker central bar, along a delicate midrib. The flower colour is lightened by a tuft of yellow anthers on white filaments. It blooms from July to September, very abundantly during the first four weeks. Grows 3-4 m high and clings to its support with twining leaf stalks. Particularly useful for growing on fences, arbours, pergolas and various garden supports, e.g. trellises, sticks, in a sunny and warm spot. It looks lovely climbing up small trees or bushes, both coniferous and deciduous.
