Japanese variety with white double flowers, 10-14 cm across. Tepals differ in size and shape, are wavy and external tepals are greenish at the top. Yellow anthers on creamy filaments. Flowers are borne in May-June, and again in August-October. It grows up to 2m high and clings to the support by twining leaf stalks.
Useful for growing on trellises, sticks and other garden supports. It looks lovely when left to climb up natural supports e.g. deciduous and coniferous bushes or dwarf shrubs that don’t require hard pruning. Best against a dark background.
